Yeah, Wilbur Wood threw 376 innings in 1972..."Of Wood's 49 starts in 1972, 25 came on two days rest, and 24 were on three days rest. On two days rest he was 12-10 with a 2.50 ERA, and with three days rest the left-hander was 12-7 with a 2.52 ERA"...

Now to be fair, after that year, Catfish had arm problems for the rest of his career. So I'm not saying anybody should throw 300 innings...but.....there has to be some happy medium between that and this dopey 100 pitch count that pitchers have today.

Am I being unreasonable?
