| Re: Ervin Santana Trade Rumors "The Yankees will make a serious run with Scott Proctor. I mean come on this guy is better then everyone out there. THis guy can bring it, I mean who else would you want in the 8th inning helping tie down the win for a serious playoff game...I think his name is Scott Proctor" -Jim Rome If any of you guys have ever heard this segment from the Jim Rome show last year sometime, it was the funniest and classic Rome sarcasm ever. Anyway I would do anything and everything to keep Scott Proctor out of the rotation, the Yanks will find someone suitable to put on the rotation

| Re: Ervin Santana Trade Rumors Yeah, that's a ridiculous thought- bringing Proctor to the rotation. I think Proctor makes a good 7th-8th inning reliever ( I mean, he's a lot better then Farnsworth, Dotel, Villone, and some of the other choices the Yanks have). The Yanks could really use a guy like Santana in their rotation, especially now that Boston is working on Matsuzaka. I know this is a radical thought, but why not trade Hideki Matsui to LA for Santana? The Angels don't really have a set left fielder (right?) and the Yankees have the young ( <- always good) Melky Cabrera. Cabrera is miles ahead of Matsui defensively, and brings a nice bat to the end of the rotation. He won't be as good as Matsui offensively, but I think the Yanks need another starting pitcher more then they need Matsui. New York's lineup is studded with All Stars, Matsui isn't even the best hitter on the team. Williams, Thompson, or Hillenbran ( as rumors are suggesting) can be backup outfielders. Cabrera can steal bases, hit well from both sides of the plate, and smack the occasional long ball ( 7 in his rookie year). |

| Re: Ervin Santana Trade Rumors He had some good outings over the years. He is young with a wide career ahead of him. I'll check back on him in a decade |

| Re: Ervin Santana Trade Rumors Word is that the market is starting to dry up for Santana. According to Yahoo! Sports, "If Ervin Santana can't win on the road sometime soon, the Los Angeles Angels could find themselves in double trouble. His confidence could erode, and so could the interest of teams interested in trading for him... The Angels have discussed him in trade talks over the last year, as a young starter who could bring a big bat in return, but the return could be limited if clubs aren't sure whether he can win consistently outside Anaheim."
