The Clippers open what is being deemed internally a 'must sweep' three game home stand tonight (7:30pm) against 10-16 Boston at Staples Center.
The 11-16 Clips confront the Celtics tonight, 11-14 Sacramento Friday and the 12-18 New York Knicks Sunday afternoon. They will be favored to win all three and given their road struggles (2-10) and the fact that they're staring at a six game, nine day trip after the first of the year this is a very important opportunity for the club to begin generating winning momentum.
Last night's 102-92 loss in Utah leaves Los Angeles two and a half games back of Golden State for eighth in the West. It was a game that featured spurts of very solid play as the Clippers built a four point lead in the second quarter and charged from 12 back to within one point midway through the fourth before falling.
