UK baseball team routs Oakland 12-2

University of Kentucky third baseman Chris McClendon went 3 for 4 and had two RBIs as the Wildcats defeated visiting Oakland 12-2 yesterday.
Sophomore pitcher James Paxton won in his first career start for UK (5-0), pitching four innings, allowing three hits and striking out six.
Andrew Estes took the loss for Oakland (0-2), lasting only 12/3 innings and giving up six runs and three walks.
The Cats had a big second inning, getting five runs on four hits, including outfielder Troy Frazier's leadoff home run. UK batted around the order and took a 6-0 lead when Frazier was walked with the bases loaded.
