LEXINGTON, Ky. -- It's not that Billy Gillispie has something against high-scoring, hot-shooting basketball.
It's just that his University of Kentucky men's team -- as evidenced again in yesterday's 63-58 win against Arkansas at Rupp Arena -- is getting so good at the other kind.
The muddied-up kind. The grind-it-out kind.
The Wildcats (15-10, 9-3 Southeastern Conference) showed their acumen in black-and-blue basketball in winning their seventh SEC game by six points or fewer.
"If that's what you have to do, I think our team has become well-equipped enough to do that," Gillispie said. "I would like to shoot 56 percent one time and play the same kind of defense."
He'll take what he can get. And what the Cats are giving him lately is gallons of grit.
