Mike Davis scribbled the message on a chalkboard yesterday and delivered it to his Alabama Birmingham basketball team at halftime of its game against the University of Kentucky.
"I told our guys at halftime that we're 15 points better than this (UK) team," Davis said.
At the time, that probably seemed optimistic.
When it mattered, it proved prophetic.
The Blazers outscored the Wildcats by 15 after halftime to win a 79-76 thriller, rallying from 12 down at halftime and 14 down in the second half to drop UK to 4-4.
The difference was UAB guard Robert Vaden, who scored 28 of his 33 points in the second half, including a deep three-pointer with 1:18 to play that gave the Blazers the lead for good, 77-74.
