LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky football team today was named the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl national team of the week for its performance at Arkansas last Saturday.

The award is voted on by select members of the Football Writers Association of America.

UK scored the last 21 points of the game to rally to a 42-29 win in Fayetteville, Ark., the Wildcats' ninth win in 10 games dating to last season. It's UK's best 10-game stretch since the 1977 team won nine of its final 10 games.

The FWAA has named a national team of the week since the 2002 season. This is the third season that the award has been sponsored by the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Other nominees for this week's honor included UNLV, which ended its 11-game losing streak to Utah with a 27-0 victory, and Syracuse, which beat the University of Louisville 38-35 at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium to snap the Cards' 20-game home winning streak.

I hope they cool off before they play Georgia. Seems Kentucky gives the Dawgs fits year in and year out. Woodson is amazing and scares me.

I would expect nothing less. I would also think you guys are floating on cloud 9 with the early results.

It is far more fun when your expectations are exceeded.

You know Kentucky could win the SEC East. I think the winner will have a least 1 loss and possibly 2.

Yeah, cloud nine is heavily populated right now, and has taken on a blue hue. We are not lettin our guards down though. We are keepin everything in perspective.

I believe I could go along with your assesment on the winner havin 1 loss possibly two. If it is KY takin the east their losses will be LSU and Florida(that's lookin at the bright side). I'm not lookin past anyone right now in all truth. It will be interesting that is for sure.
