| SEC player of the week LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky quarterback Andre’ Woodson today was named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week after his performance in the Wildcats’ 40-34 win against the University of Louisville last Saturday. Woodson completed 30-of-44 passes for 275 yards and four touchdowns without an interception, running his SEC-record streak of consecutive passes without an interception to 257. That’s 14 shy of the all-time NCAA record. Woodson and the 21st-ranked Cats travel to Fayetteville, Ark., this weekend for a game against Arkansas. At his weekly news conference today, UK coach Rich Brooks said wide receiver Keenan Burton likely will play with a sprained ankle. Burton and cornerback Paul Warford (groin/back pain) likely will miss at least tomorrow’s practice, Brooks said, but should return to the field later this week. UK faces a challenge, Brooks said, in facing the Razorbacks (1-1), who are coming off a 41-38 loss at Alabama last Saturday. Arkansas running back Darren McFadden is the SEC’s leading rusher, averaging 173 yards per game. “I’ve been in this game a long time, and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen two backs in the same backfield like McFadden and (Felix) Jones. I know it’s early in his career, but I think when you start talking about the all-time great backs that have played college football, McFadden’s name has got to be in that discussion. "You combined that with a big, physical offensive line and great speed on their defense, and we’ve obviously got a very difficult task at hand this week.” Woodson named SEC Player of Week

| Re: SEC player of the week Last weekend was Woodson's coming out party. Those of us in the rest of the nation who had been dismissing him saw just how bloody good he was - and head to head against wonderboy Brohm, no less. He definitely earned this trophy and I bet he's got the attention of more than a few Heisman voters. Not saying he can or will win it, but if he was off the radar before he certainly isn't anymore.
