| UK fans grab a piece of history after win LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Nathan Rice and Andrew Ayers ran down to the field in Commonwealth Stadium and grabbed handfuls of sod to celebrate the University of Kentucky's last-minute win last night. "It was out of control," said Rice, a UK sophomore. "We kissed the ground a little bit. Then we laid in the end zone right where Steve Johnson scored his touchdown" to give the Wildcats a 40-34 victory over the University of Louisville. "We weren't the only ones." Ayers, a junior at UK, said he planned to put the sod on display with his game ticket. The pair were among thousands of Wildcat fans delirious over the win against a nationally ranked opponent, but Cardinals fans were downcast over seeing the game slip away. "Why did this have to happen?" groaned Bob Myers, a 1991 U of L graduate who now lives in Lexington with his wife, a UK fan. "The only good thing is if we can beat them in basketball. Maybe that will shut them up." Marianna Chancellor, a lifelong UK fan who said she was in her 60s, said it UK fans grab a piece of history after win
