UK's big win wasn't even all that close

Go ahead, Mitch Barnhart. Say it, Rich Brooks.

No, on second thought, I'll say it:

You were right. You can't argue with the scoreboard.

When Brooks and Barnhart insisted that the University of Kentucky's rivalry game against the University of Louisville be played on the third week of the season instead of the first, they took more heat than, well, new U of L coach Steve Kragthorpe's next radio show.

Including in this column space.

But the scoreboard doesn't lie: UK 40, U of L 34.

Here's what the scoreboard doesn't say: It wasn't really that close.

Eric Crawford: UK's big win wasn't even all that close

Not that close? Sorry, but this writer's an idiot.

There were six lead changes and Douglas was just a few yards shy of winning the game for Louisville at the end. I'd call that a close game, wouldn't you?

Thanks, Q... never read the guy before today, but I agree. Apparently it doesn't take too long to reach that conclusion.
