RICHMOND, Ky. — Drive across the Eastern Kentucky University campus, and you'll spot them. Can't miss 'em, in fact.

They're the EKU students in University of Kentucky T-shirts. The ones driving cars with those big "K" stickers in the back windshield.
They're everywhere.

And, yes, the Colonels' football team has noticed.

"It's very aggravating," offensive tackle Sean Dumford said. "You walk around knowing your opening game is Kentucky, and you see everybody wearing Kentucky stuff. I guess it's expected, but it's definitely a motivator."


It's not that EKU needs much added motivation.

Tomorrow's 6p.m. game at Commonwealth Stadium — the first meeting between the Colonels and the Wildcats since 1998 and only the second ever — represents as much opportunity as it does challenge.

EKU out to stake its claim in UK land
