Kentucky Regular Season Opener Tonight

The Wildcats will be playing host to the Redhawks of Miami (Ohio) in a game that will start at 7 p.m. Miami apparently lost its opener by a point to Wright State. Kentucky will be mildly shorthanded tonight, as projected starting power forward Sheray Thomas finishes up his three-game suspension. Also, backup center Jared Carter will be out of action for 3-4 weeks, due to a shoulder separation. Lukasz Obrzut, a senior from Poland, will back up Randolph Morris until he returns. Fox Sports South will be telecasting the game, for those of you who are within its signal range.

What's the deal with Lukasz Obrzut?...He seems a bit of a 7 foot 270 lb stiff...doesn't seem to rebound much, doesn't really block shots...just fouls a heck of a lot...

Re: Kentucky Regular Season Opener Tonight

Gotham, because Randolph Morris is so foul-prone, someone has to back him up. Obrzut is that person. He plays reasonably good defense, but is almost a total zero on the offensive end of the court. As you probably noticed, the Cats were pretty bad offensively when Morris was forced to sit on the bench with his foul trouble. The normal backup, currently injured, is better at the offensive end, but well short of Morris's level.
