Should the Kansas Jayhawks be ranked in the AP or Coaches' Polls?

According to Amelia Freidline of the University Daily Kansan, "Kansas has been piling up some impressive statistics so far this season. The offense is averaging 553 yards each game and scoring almost 54 points per contest while the defense is yielding fewer than 220 yards and five points per game. In all of those categories, the Jayhawks rank in the top five nationally. Unfortunately for Kansas, the dominant performance has not earned the team much notice in the polls."

"Kansas received six votes in the AP Top 25 Poll, placing them 33rd. In the USA Today Top 25 Coaches' Poll, Kansas garnered 20 votes, good for a share of the 29th spot. That Kansas is receiving any attention at all from national pollsters is an improvement from years past, but the small number of votes the team has received seems out of line with its nearly perfect performance."
