| Royals win opener The Kansas City Royals were suprise Opening Day winners, beating the Detroit Tigers 5-4. Alex Gordon had a home run and two RBI, and Mark Grudzielanek went 3-for-4, scoring one run and driving in another. The $138-million Tigers opened with a thud, losing to Royals 5-4 - MLB - Yahoo! | Re: Royals win opener I saw an inning early on and Detroit seemed so pumped for the new season. Then I saw they went into extra...then KC won. Nice spoiler team here at the start. KC does have some nice young talent. |
