According to Free Press News Services, "Royals manager and former Tigers skipper Buddy Bell is taking a leave of absence to treat a growth near his left tonsil... Bell will seek a second opinion today at the direction of his doctor. Bench coach Bill Doran will serve as the interim manager." He may miss the rest of the season.

So, could this maybe be considered a dress rehersal for Doran? What's the future for Bell in K.C.?

I think a lot of that depends on Buddy's health. Let's hope it's something benign. If he's okay, he should come back. He's done as good as he can with that team.

I don't think a change in management will make a big difference. They need a change in rosters. Perhaps a switch with the Yankees would be sufficient!

There are some great pitchers on the market this off-season. Go after them and you might have yourself a contending team.
