Royals clinch!

Yep, you read that right - the Kansas City Royals have clinched!

Their third straight last-place finish, that is. As the Associated Press reports, "Robb Quinlan and Vladimir Guerrero homered to back rookie Joe Saunders, and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Kansas City Royals, 5-2, Tuesday night as they tried to gain ground in the AL West... Kansas City clinched its third straight last-place finish in the AL Central, the first time that has happened in the history of the franchise. The Royals (58-93) must win five of their last 11 games to avoid their fourth 100-loss season in five years."

So anyone think they'll somehow manage to NOT lose 100 game this year?

Re: Royals clinch!

Yes.

That is if suddenly a minor league prospect comes out of the dust and homers 12 times in the next three games.

If they continue to play as they did all season long, my answer is no.

Re: Royals clinch!

Any team can make a turn around in a few years, just look at the Tigers and Marlins. In any event, the Royals played hard to finish dead last yet again .

Re: Royals clinch!

Give them the payroll that the Yankees have and I doubt they would finish last

Re: Royals clinch!

They don't need the payroll. They need the players!
