The Cheifs have drafted DE Tyson Jackson with the 3rd pick of the 2009 NFL draft.

The Cheifs look like they have some work to do with their team, I didn't expect them to start here.

Wasn't my guess, but I think this is what they had to do to start moving to the 3-4 defense they want to run.

I like the pick I think Tyson Jackson will be good, but I don't get how they couldn't trade down. Scott Pioli is a smart guy and teams acutally listen to Mel Kiper as a source, as crazy as it sounds, it's true Mel Kiper's mock draft is usually the reason teams trade up. How did they not talk the Redskins or Jets into thinking that Sanchez was going at 4 to Seatle because it was on Kipers draft and then they traded down and maybe used some of the extra picks to trade back into the top 10 and get Jackson. There are ways they could've done this getting more picks and taking Jackson at a better value. But I like the pick

Nobody wanted to trade up to #3. Not Pioli's fault. Top 5 picks rarely get dealt.

The word obviously got out the night before the draft. When I checked ESPN that Saturday morning, all of a sudden Kiper and McShay had the Chiefs taking Jackson. Before Saturday, I didn't see Jackson on anybody's mock draft for the Chiefs.

He'll allow the Chiefs to more effectively run the 3-4 this year.

I heard it once and that Peter King's Mock Draft in the SI that week, I saw it and I was like what the hell that makes no sense. I was wrong. But it's true teams dont want to trade into the top 5 but teams really wanted Sanchez I think they've could've gotten out of it if they really wanted too
