| Re: Chiefs - Giants preseason game So tonight, the Kansas City Chiefs play the New York Giants in the second preseason match-up for both teams. According to this story, things to watch for K.C. include the following: "Establishing the depth chart behind quarterback Trent Green will again be among the most pressing issues for the Chiefs this week. With would-be backups Damon Huard (foot) and Brodie Croyle (shoulder) both nursing injuries, Green and former CFL starter Casey Printers could be the only able-bodied QBs available against the Giants, though ex-Ram Jeff Smoker, signed as a free agent Aug. 10th, could also take some snaps. Green (5-of-6 passing, 34 yards) was solid in the loss to the Texans, though Printers (6-of-12, 71 yards, 1 INT, 5 sacks, 1 lost fumble) was not particularly sharp."
"Kansas City is also banged up at running back, where Michael Bennett (hamstring) and Priest Holmes (neck) remain unavailable," the article also points out. "Starter and 2005 Pro Bowler Larry Johnson, who rushed seven times for 30 yards against Houston, could see more action this week. On defense, first-round draft choice Tamba Hali (ribs) is not slated to be in the lineup against the Giants, and fellow d-linemen John Browning (back), Carlos Hall (knee) and Junior Siavii (knee) are also battling injuries."
Lots of injuries, lots of risk if the starters have to play longer. The Chiefs better be careful tonight, right? I mean, you don't want to risk having your season end before it begins with injuries to Green and/or LJ.
