It ain't broke. But the Kansas City Chiefs are still going to fix it.And that's OK with Trent Green.
The quarterback who's passed for more yards the past five years than anyone but Payton Manning insists he's entirely at ease with a defensive-minded new head coach who plans to run more and throw less.
"As long as we're winning, that's completely fine with me," Green said Saturday. "We've been in the top five in passing the last three or four seasons. We've also been in the top five in rushing. Whatever way we can find a way to win. If it means running the ball more, I'm fine with it."
Since coming to Kansas City in a trade with St. Louis and being reunited with his head coach and father figure Dick Vermeil in 2001, Green has thrown for 20,117 yards and 111 touchdowns. Only Indianapolis' Manning has connected for more.

Yeah, I have followed this kid for a few years...Having Mannig on my fantasy team, I have added Green as the back up often...I remember a 5 TD game he had for me during a Manning off weak...If the Chiefs just get a defense...

Re: Trent Green happy in K.C.

Yeah, Trent Green was one of my QBs last year too, Gotham. But I don't know about this year. Herm Edwards seems to be focusing more on the run, and all I hear on the sports shows is about how Larry Johnson could go for 2,000 yards. That could mean Green sees is attempts halved, which would kill his numbers. But then, if they're being so public about focusing on the run... maybe its reverse psychology, you know?

I think Johnson can only improve Green...when you are looking out for the big back and putting 8 in the box...the field opens up for a guy like Green.
