Chiefs QB Brodie Croyle

I've been high on this guy for a long time, and now promising reports about ex-Crimson Tide and current Kansas City QB Brodie Croyle are surfacing from the team's minicamp. According to Rotowire, he impressed coaches with his arm-strength when he knocked down RB Quentin Griffin with a pass. Joked Croyle, "I've been working out." Now word is that he is most definitely the heir apparent to Trent Green, in one or two more seasons. I think he'll be a fine NFL quarterback. What do you think?

I don't know man...you can go knocking down your receivers...actually I don't know the kid...gotta go look him up...but I haven'y seen the Tide produce a world class QB for a while...and when did Quentin become a Chief...wasn't he a Bronco or something?...so much ESPN Sports Center ...so little time...

Re: Chiefs QB Brodie Croyle

Yep, Griffith was a Bronco, but in his infinite wisdom Mike Shanahan opted to let him go (might've even cut him, can't remember) and hang on to Ron Dayne. Yes, you read that right. No, I don't know what he was smoking, but it must've been pretty potent.

Croyle is a talented kid who was plagued with knee problems throughout his entire collegiate career. He's got all the tools, especially in the leadership department, to be a great one but the injury concerns knocked him down to a third-rounder. That said, if he gets behind a good o-line and they can keep DEs and LBs off his arse, I think he'll be a excellent quarterback.

Well, well, well...maybe those dozen of Ron Dayne rookie cards I got will pan out...I like the big Wisconsin back...but I thought Griffith was a good fit behind the Broncos offensive line...

Re: Chiefs QB Brodie Croyle

Brodie Croyle has one thing against him though and its a biggie...Herm Edwards as his coach. The man who hired Paul Hackett as his offensive coordinator in his tenure with the Jets. Hackett knows a bit less than Buddy Ryan about offensive football. If Coyle is gonna be good or great hes gonna have to do it despite his scripture spouting, digital clock baffled, guidance counselor of a head coach.

Re: Chiefs QB Brodie Croyle

Haven't heard much lately, but everything I have heard has been positive.

How about it, Chiefs fans? What's the latest coming out of Chiefs training camp on Brodie Croyle?
