Chiefs To Cut Law

A league source tells us that the Kansas City Chiefs soon will be releasing veteran cornerback Ty Law.
Law, 33, was cut by the Patriots in February 2005. He played for the Jets that year, and then signed with the Chiefs in 2006.
Signed through 2010, Law is due to earn a base salary of $6.5 million in the coming season.

I like Law, but he is getting up their in age, though he would still be a solid addition to any NFL team.

IF he's willing to take a pay reduction. He's pretty much gonna be relegated to nickle status at this point in his career, I believe.

See, that's why I hate NFL contacts...they ain't worth spit...he guy is signed through 2010...big deal...they just cut him...so when they sign they should structure it heavy up front with a ton of bonus...$6.5 mil in 2010 ain't worth squat.

I agree. He'd be a great addition to a contender. The Super Bowl champs have room under the cap and need secondary help, hmmmm.

I agree. And though the team can cut him whenever they want, the player cant do much of anything.
