Anaylsis of Chief's quarterbacks

Here are the quarterbacks the Chiefs new offensive coordinator, Chan Gailey has to work with.
Brodie Croyle
A third-round pick in 2006, the Chiefs' young QB started six games last season and finished with six touchdowns, six interceptions, and a passer rating of 69.9. How much of that is due to poor pass protection and a poor running game is hard to determine. Croyle also seems to have trouble staying healthy, but for not it would appear the Chiefs are his team.
Damon Huard
A longtime backup in the league, he won the starting job in 2007. He started strong because of his ability to avoid mistakes but because of a failing offense he ended up with more interceptions than touchdowns. The veteran may be on his way out because there are other younger quarterbacks on the roster and he does nothing to help with finding a franchise quarterback.
Tyler Thigpen
A seventh-round pick of Minnesota last year, the former Coastal Carolina QB was cut by the Vikings after training camp. The Chiefs picked him up on waivers. He probably wont be the primary back up in 2008, he is good prospect for development.
David Greene
The former Georgia quarterback was a third-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2005, but was cut by the team before last season. The New England Patriots quickly added him to their practice squad, but released him in November. And after Thigpen's injury opened the need for another QB, the Chiefs brought him to their roster. It remains to be seen if he will stay in the Chiefs camp this spring.
If they part with Huard, they will need another back up. Because of the relationship between Edwards and his former QB Chad Pennington, rumors of Chad coming to Kansas City have been floating around. It is doubtful, however, that Chad would be happy with a back up role.

It looks like Croyle will be the guy. Hope they make improvements in that offensive line so its not a short career for him!

Well, he's a total unknown at this point, and they have been grooming Brodie...so why change horses in mid stream.

No, we never used him. We've never even used charlie frye, but he was a seahawks QB at some time, so he must be good.

Too bad guys, but it would appear it is Croyle's job to lose.

How could Huard look so good one year in relieve of Green and so bad the next? I hope they at least give him another look.

I like Croyle, let's see what he can do when LJ is playing.

Some are just relief pitchers...they take advantage of the defense set up for someone else not them...like Volek or Don Strock.

That makes sense, and it also explains some things I have been wondering about.
