WJLA, DC - Jan 27, 2007
(Sports Network) - The Kansas City Chiefs Friday agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Mexican collegiate star offensive lineman Ramiro Pruneda.
"The Kansas City Chiefs played a football game in Monterrey, Mexico in 96 against the Dallas Cowboys," Chiefs president Carl Peterson said. "It was a wonderful trip for us and our late founder Lamar Hunt and his family enjoyed the trip tremendously. Lamar and I went to see a Pop-Warner exhibition game where there were a lot of talented young football players who we thought may have a future with the National Football League. It is my pleasure to introduce Ramiro Pruneda."
Pruneda, 6-foot-6, 317 pounds, contributed to Monterrey Tech's four national championships during his five-year career, and was named the nation's Best Offensive Lineman three times by the ONEFA.
