Jones likely done in Jacksonville

When the Jacksonvile Jaquars drafted Matt Jones out of Arkansas in 2005 it was hoped he could make the transition from qb to elite wide receiver. Instead it would appear he has made no improvements in skill at all. If he doesnt show up big time in training camp, it is likely he will be done in Jacksonville.

317 receiving yards and 4 tds for the 6-6 guy. That would be a disappointment I guess?

Yeah, but they said they wouldnt cut him until after training camp and that could be a problem.
Except I suppose most anyone could use a receiver. Actually, he's so tall all the qb probably has to do is get it in his general direction and he should be able to reach and pick it off.

Pittsburgh could use a wideout with that kind of size and speed, too. Maybe he'll wind up a Steeler.

That's right. Big Ben wants a taller receiver.
Maybe Jones will step it up in training camp and keep his job.

He has no skills for the receiving position. Matt Jones is big and fast but a real project for anyone to pick up. He's got amazing raw talent yet so unskilled you'd have to train him like you would a rookie QB and Jones has been supposedly learning for a few years now.

Ah, but who has had better success turning QBs into WRs than the Steelers?

Well if he comes relatively cheap and they are willing to devote a lot of time than I guess it's ok, but if the Steelers are relying on Matt Jones to somehow fill a void left in the wide receiver category I just think they will be disappointed.

Quite possibly. But what the Steelers want is a big target who can possibly stretch the field and comes cheap. I think Jones fits the bill.
