Jags Sign Porter, Lemon

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP)—The Jacksonville Jaguars upgraded their receiving corps Friday, agreeing to terms with free agent Jerry Porter and completing a trade for former first-round draft pick Troy Williamson.

The Jaguars also agreed to terms with backup quarterback Cleo Lemon.

The moves are part of a makeover for Jacksonville, which finished 11-5 last season and beat Pittsburgh in the first round of the playoffs.

According to what I have read, they chose not to resign Wilford. I dont know about Jones.
Porter is to step into the No. 1 spot.

Ha! That's funny. I went to see a Rock N Roll show sunday and the singer had an Oakland Raiders Jerry Porter jersey. Guess he has to pick a new Raider to idolize...I suggest Justin Fargas or Kirk Morrison but the Jags now have Jones, Williamson and Porter, not a bad receiving corps. And Cleo Lemon is a solid backup QB.

Im glad they got a new back up QB. Quinn Gray was just terrible. Seem'd when i watched him play, almost every throw was a pick. And good pickup with Porter, not sure about willie yet.

Yes. I think he's a suitable backup. He played some good games last season, had a good game against the Super Bowl Champion's defense in London remember?

No, I dont. Guess I missed his good games.

All I remember about that game is Eli coming off the field covered in mud.

Re: Jags Sign Porter, Lemon

Porter has always had massive potential but in 8 or 9 years in the league what has he really done? Lemon, in my opinion is worse than having kept Leftwich.

Not sure I'd say that. I mean, Leftwich can't even catch on with the Atlanta Falcons. Chris Redman beat him out. You can't top that.

I would still Leftwich...in Atlanta, Leftwich had no mobility and was a sitting duck...I still like his arm better over Lemon

Leftwich would have no mobility and be a sitting duck anywhere he plays.
