First reported by FoxSports.com, Jacksonville has lost one of their primary offensive threats. WR Jimmy Smith has announced his retirement. Smith, who led the Jags with 70 catches for 1,023 yards and six touchdowns last season, is 37 years old. He walks away from the game with more receptions than every single WR in the Hall of Fame, and is seventh in NFL history with 862 receptions and 11th in receiving yards.

I agree. When you think of the five best receivers even playing today, how many times does the name Jimmy Smith come up? Behind T.O., Moss, Harrison at least, I'm sure. That's what makes it so surprising that he has those kind of credentials.
