Jaguars sign Tim Couch

According to the Associated Press, "Former No. 1 draft pick Tim Couch signed a two-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, getting a chance to revive his career as a backup to quarterback Byron Leftwich... Couch, the top pick by Cleveland in 1999, hasn't played a down in the NFL since the 2004 preseason." If Couch makes the team, he'll earn the veteran minimum of $595,000 for the 2007 season. Can he come back?

Re: Jaguars sign Tim Couch

To say he is done just shows ignorance. I'm a longtime jag fan in lexington and have been watching Tim work out. Don't be surprised if he gets invited to all the winter quarterback passing competitions, he's that good. He has been injured but is in the best condition since college days, maybe better. As a moderator I'd think you'd be a little smarter than that. Go to a practice and watch him throw then tell us again how his career is over. Great work ethic, solid family life, an arm that has been underrated. As a rookie they beat the crap out of him behind a pourous line at cleveland and still he put up good numbers until they finally broke his damn leg. They made him play with a shoulder that was obviously injured and he's just now had the rehab and time off he needs. The docs say there is minimal chance of the same injury plagueing him again. Watch is all I can say. Also... be aware that if he gets reps in preseason games the Jags viewership will probably double due to the big blue fans that are behind couch. Don't badmouth what may wind up being the best thing to happen to the jags in a long time. He's the best quarterback you have, and not by a small margin.

Cool Re: Jaguars sign Tim Couch

Why did nobody sign Couch before this?

And why do the Jags hate Leftwich so much?
