The Jacksonville Jaguars are a good team, but will they ever become a great team?

There are several different aspects of the team to consider when asking this question.
** They have a solid defense with many good players, but there is always room for improvement.
** The offense is another story, although they have a dependable offensive line and a very good running game.
** The quarterback situation is in turmoil according to some, but I disagree with that assessment. The quarterbacks themselves are fairly good athletes.
** The one glaring weakness is at the receiver slot.
** The special teams are just short of adequate and they have needs in a few areas on special teams.

The meshing of the three pieces of the team sometimes lacks unity.

The defense has some very good players that take pride in their performance when they are having a good game, but get frustrated when they have a tough game. The defensive line is sturdy at the interior positions. The Jaguars probably have the best defensive tackle combination in the NFL in Marcus Stroud and John Henderson. The defensive end positions are lacking somewhat. They have an end by committee thing going on right now.

Del Rio just announced that Leftwich will be the QB, so there is no controversy. This was clearly the right choice. If the Jags can stay healthy, they will make the playoffs in my opinion.
