Jacksonville, Fla.-----Tom Williams, who spent the last two seasons as San Jose State University’s co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, is joining the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League as an assistant coach.
Williams, 37-years-old, is one of two new assistants announced on February 8 by head coach Jack Del Rio, and one of six recent hires by the Jaguars since the 2006 season ended.
“I got to know him and continued to track him. He’s a Stanford grad; bright guy, energetic,” Del Rio said of Williams who will be a special teams assistant and get to work with the linebackers and overall Jacksonville defense, too.
