Shreveport Times, LA - Feb 9, 2007
BATON ROUGE - Todd Monken lost out on Ruston, but he'll be heading to the sunshine of Jacksonville, Fla., instead.
Monken has left his job as LSU wide receivers coach to become wide receivers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL, according to the Jaguars' Web site.
Monken, 41, interviewed in Ruston for the Louisiana Tech head coaching job shortly after the 2006 season, but he lost out to Miami Dolphins tight ends coach Derek Dooley, a former LSU assistant.
Monken is the third assistant to leave LSU head coach Les Miles' staff since the end of the 2006 season. Offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher took the same job at Florida State for less money. Offensive line coach Stacy Searels took the same job at Georgia, where he is from.
