NY Giants vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Next Sunday, the Giants (6-3) head down to Jacksonville to play the Jaguars (5-4). Both teams are coming off dissapointing losses...however, the Jags lost to the Texans...the Giants lost to the Bears. The Jaguars were hurt by tons of dropped passes as Dave Garrard tries to lead them since Leftwich is out due to injuries.

Speaking of injuries, it seems the Giants are one big walking injury. Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora, Carlos Emmons, Brandon Short, LaVar Arrington and Amani Toomer did not play last night. During the game, starting left tackle Luke Pettigout broke his leg. Corner Sam Madison reinjured his hamstring while Tiki Barber was favoring his thumb. We'll see who will play next week although I assume Tiki and one of the LBers should be able to.

This is Jacksonville's last home game until the middle of December while the Giants begin a two game road trip through the AFC South. Next week, they go to Tennessee.

Injuries were a big reason why the New York Giants missed a chance to claim the NFC's best record last weekend. They hope that's all the disheartening loss cost them.

After suffering several more key injuries, the banged-up Giants (6-3) look to rebound from a home defeat to Chicago when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars (5-4) at Alltel Stadium on Monday night.

New York came into last week's game against the Bears missing five starters. The lack of depth eventually caught up to the Giants, as they blew a 10-point lead and lost 38-20.

Making matters worse, New York also saw cornerback Sam Madison (hamstring) and tackle Luke Petitgout (broken leg) go down, while star running back Tiki Barber suffered an injured finger.

Coach Tom Coughlin said he's unsure who will return this week. Petitgout is likely out for the year, joining receiver Amani Toomer, who sustained a season-ending knee injury two weeks ago.

Re: Giants-Jaguars Preview

THis should be an interesting game tonight as both teams are banged up. It's just a matter of who can string it along.

Ronde Barber is suppose to be in the MNF booth during the game. WHY CAN'T THEY FOCUS ON THE GAME?! They don't need a guest every week. UGH.

Re: NY Giants vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

if i see one more ball thrown to plex im going to vomit. besides screens to tiki no one has been throown to. If i were shockey i openly rip the coaches again in the media. And im done arguing in favor of manning and willing to call him the new joey harrington

I think young Eli is allergic to 3rd down conversions. 2nd worse in the NFL on that stat, and he sure isn't doing much to improve that tonight.

But I haven't given up on him yet...genetics keep me hoping for better from him, eventually.

Tough game to watch. Eli just looks like he's in a funk. The run game never got started and the Jaguars just got the ball back.

At least the Giants will be tied for first place, they're still in a nice spot.

Re: NY Giants vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

How come all I see are people saying how bad the Giants are. Is anybody going to give the Jaguars any credit for completely shutting the Giants down. It is no easy feat to hold Tiki to under 30 yards rushing. Maybe the reason Shockey is not getting the ball is because they know he is a great weapon and they are not letting him get the ball.

With all this being said, I still agree that Manning sucks.

Re: NY Giants vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

he had ten carries. they didnt stop the run they gave up on running, and eli cant convert 3rd downs. He falls in love with plex way to much and in the 4th he realizes he needs to get it to shockey and then the offense moves, thats the real difference between the 1st three quarters, and the last. Lets not forget we have a wr in plex who cant hold onto the ball if he wanted. The jaguars are a good defense but today the giants beat themself. When your so perdictable on offense its easy to stop.
