Re: Garrard vs Leftwich

It's not so much anti-Leftwich as pro-Garrard. Like Del Rio said at this Monday press conference: "David is in a rhythm... I'm more comfortable with his decision-making right now and that makes me more comfortable to stick with it... He's proven to his teammates and coaching staff he can move the football team and lead the football team."

Of course, it also helps that, according to the Associated Press, "This season, Leftwich has been hobbled by a sprained left ankle and completed just 14-of-28 passes for 125 yards in a 27-7 loss at Houston on October 22." His mobility is terrible at this point because of how banged up he is, and Del Rio says Leftwich is only at around 85% right now, and that he isn't expected to improve much without rest. So you play the hot hand, shut Leftwich down for a while and go from there.

I'll say this about Leftwich - he seems pretty brittle.

Leftwich is very injury prone. The guy just can't keep himself on the field! I say stick with Garrard. The Jags are flying with him taking the snaps so why put someone else in there and risk crashing?

If the Steelers had a viable backup, I would sit Ben. He has been terrible this year. He should be sat for the rest of the season. Nobody can go through everything he did then be in football shape.
