| Cyrus Tate Earns Chris Street Award ![]() IOWA CITY - - Junior forward Cyrus Tate has been named recipient of the Chris Street Award for the 2007-08 basketball season. The award was announced Tuesday at the University of Iowa's recognition dinner. The Chris Street Award, which is presented annually to a Hawkeye player, or players, who best exemplify the spirit, enthusiasm and intensity of Chris Street. "Cyrus is proud to be a Hawkeye and to represent the University of Iowa," said Iowa Coach Todd Lickliter. "I know he will take pride in receiving this award in Chris' name. He's earned the honor through his team leadership and his performance on the court, especially during our Big Ten season." Tate (6-8, 240) started 19 of the 31 games he played this season, averaging 8.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He missed one game due to injury. He shot 66.7% from the field and had 18 steals and 12 blocked shots. The junior from Chicago, IL played one season at Northeast, NE Community College before joining the Iowa program for the past two seasons. He attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School.
