The top-ranked Iowa wrestling team begins pursuit of its first Big Ten championship since 2004 when the conference tournament starts Saturday in Minneapolis.
The Hawkeyes haven’t lost against Big Ten competition or in a tournament setting yet this season. Iowa goes into the meet with a pair of No. 1 seeds in Brent Metcalf at 149 pounds and Mark Perry Jr. at 165. The Hawkeyes also have six others seeded fourth or better – No. 2 Charlie Falck at 125, No. 2 Joey Slaton at 133, No. 4 Dan LeClere at 141, No. 2 Jay Borschel at 174, No. 3 Phil Keddy at 184 and No. 4 Matt Fields at heavyweight.
