| Schedule Favorable for Hawkeyes Go ahead, gaze down the remaining schedule for the Iowa men’s basketball team. Five of six games remain against opponents that entered the week with lesser records, so could a logical conclusion be that the Hawkeyes will have momentum heading into the Big Ten Conference Tournament? “You’d really be making a mistake if you feel the schedule is anything less than very demanding,” Iowa coach Todd Lickliter cautioned on the conference teleconference today. “We’re going to stay true to trying to be a better team everyday.” Iowa starts the last third of its regular season schedule against Michigan Thursday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena with records of 4-8 in the conference and 11-14 overall after Saturday’s 63-50 loss at Minnesota. The Hawkeyes are seventh in the conference, and if the placing holds, they would open the conference tournament on March 13 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind., against the No. 10 seed.
