Former University of Iowa assistant football coach and athletic administrator Bob Flora died in a car accident in the Upper Peninsula area of Michigan, Iowa officials confirmed this afternoon.

Flora was 92.

The accident occurred Tuesday. Flora was a resident of St. Ignace, Mich.
Flora served as line coach for the Hawkeyes from 1952-63. He served under Iowa coaches Forest Evashevski and Jerry Burns and later became an assistant athletic director under Evashevski.
He worked at the University until 1970. Flora and his late wife, Margaret had five daughters and one son.
