| Douglas trial set for December 10 Iowa City, Ia. - Suspended Iowa football player Dominique Douglas' trial for unauthorized use of a credit card is set for Dec. 10. Douglas came to the Johnson County Courthouse for his pretrial conference Thursday morning, but did not sit in on the short meeting among attorneys and Judge Douglas Russell. No plea deal was reached, and a trial date was set. Douglas and fellow Hawkeye Anthony Bowman, both 19-year-olds from Detroit, were charged Aug. 19 with unauthorized use of a credit card, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. They are accused of making more than $2,000 in online purchases with credit cards they didn't have permission to use. Douglas and Bowman were suspended from the football team in August.
