Iowa fans will be back in black for the third year in a row Saturday.

That’s because the annual “Blackout Saturday” tradition continues as the Hawks take on Illinois.

The inaugural Blackout Saturday was Oct. 22, 2005, when Iowa played Michigan. Last year, it was Oct. 28 as the Hawkeyes took on Northern Illinois.

That is one of the greatest hings about college football is the traditions that are carried on. You just can't find that in many other sports.
