Richardson done for year

Iowa City, Ia. – The anticipated became reality today — Iowa starting offensive lineman Dace Richardson will be a spectator the remaining six regular-season games.

Coach Kirk Ferentz said the junior will undergo surgery to repair damaged cartilage in a knee.

“It’s about a six-month rehabilitation,” Ferentz said, “so we’re looking at pretty extensive recovery.”

Iowa hosts Illinois at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Richardson started one game this season and played in two others. He started eight games last season.
