I'll admit, this surprised me, because when I think of truly dedicated football fans I rarely think of the Iowa Hawkeyes (no offense intended). But the team has sold out their last 29 games, if you can believe it, and five of their six home games for 2007 are already sold out.
"Fans of the Hawkeyes have proven once again just how special they are. To reach a sellout of the season opener in Chicago seven weeks before kickoff and to reach sellout status for five of our six home games a full month before the home opener is simply remarkable and a tribute to not only our football program but to our fans as well. Both are simply the best," Gary Barta, the university's director of athletics, told HawkeyeSports.com.
Think they'll be able to sell out Western Michigan as well?
