Hawkeyes Special Teams undecided

Word out of Iowa Hawkeyes camp is that none of the special teams positions have been decided yet. According to coach Kirk Ferentz, ""We have a lot of areas on our football team right now where we have strengths and we also have areas where we're going to be young and inexperienced, especially on special teams... That's an area we've got to improve upon this season if we're going to have a good season, and that's going to be a collective effort."

Looks like it might be a sophomore handling placekicking duties and one of two freshmen punting, while running backs Damian Sims and Albert Young and receivers Andy Brodell, Dominique Douglas and Anthony Bowman are return-men candidates. Will the IU special teams be able to hold up in 2007?

Special teams still a question mark for Hawkeyes :: Home-grown talent will continue at kicker

Brodell returned punts last year and Albert Young and Douglas returned kicks if they kept that they would be fine

Perhaps, but that kicking game has got to be worrysome. Doesn't sound like anyone's emerged as a real strong candidate as of yet.
