Jenny has been one of the state's premier hitters throughout her career. She is hitting .451 with 10 homers, 16 doubles and 64 RBIs this season. She has a hefty .735 slugging percentage and has scored 56 runs. She has been walked 27 times.
"She's offensively very, very strong," Solon coach Erin White said. "She's a very smart girl, very determined to get better every day. She's somebody you don't want to pitch to in a tough situation. She can put the ball in play. I know there was a game a couple weeks ago, they were trying to walk her, and she hit a homer over the right-field fence."
Iowa coach Gayle Blevins said Schuelke, a UI recruit, has what it takes to be a good hitter: bat speed, strength, balance and vision.
"She has tremendous athletic ability," Blevins said. "There are a lot of things she can do and do well. Mechanically, she's really pretty sound for this point in her development. Sometimes student-athletes will have a hole in their swings or their mechanics. She doesn't have a very obvious, apparent weakness."
