| Season Ticket Sales Exceed 2006 Totals, Could Surpass 56,500 IOWA CITY -- Sales of season tickets to the six home games of the 2007 University of Iowa football team have already exceeded the total sold a year ago and are on pace to surpass 56,500, the UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced today. To date, the UI Athletic Ticket Office has sold 45,852 season tickets to the general public, and UI faculty and staff. That total includes a complete sellout of the premium seat options inside the Paul W. Brechler Press Box. The UI also expects to sell all 10,400 season tickets assigned for sale to UI students. "The support we receive from our many friends and fans is unmatched and these numbers are more evidence of that fact. We are very grateful for our tremendous following and don't ever take it for granted," said UI Director of Athletics Gary Barta. "Obviously, our fans are just as excited about the 2007 college football season as we are," added Barta, who noted that more than 800 new season ticket accounts have been opened by fans of the Hawkeyes already this spring and summer.
