[College Sports News]

The University of Iowa men and women's track teams competed in day two of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday in Sacramento, CA.

After four events, junior Tammilee Kerr is in 20th place in the heptathlon with 3,116 points. She placed 16th in the 100-meter hurdles (14.22), 17th in the 200 meters (25.59), 21st in the shot put (36-4) and 22nd in the high jump (5-3) Thursday. She will compete in the final three events - long jump, javelin and 800 meters - Friday. Junior Diane Nukuri was set to run in the women's 10,000 meter finals at 10:40 p.m. (CT) Thursday.

Anyone know if they are televising any of this? It use to be they always showed the Championships on TV.

It's on CSTV today, but CBS tomorrow afternoon at 1pm.

Thanks...I am gonna watch. I actually have these things on tape back to the mid 80's.

I used to be a big fan of track, back when they showed it more consistantly during the days of Carl Lewis, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, etc. Not so much now. I guess it's because it doesn't get the exposure it used to. You kind of forget about it, push it out of your mind. I have no idea who's who in terms of Olympic competition these days.

Ditto. I could tell you all the times they ran then...the records...the national champions...loved the big USSR-USA dual meet every year.

And now...nothing...it's like no one cares any more.
