The Corridor Classic is in its fourth year of existance, and pits the only two NCAA Division I baseball teams in the state of Iowa against each other annually at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids... Iowa is 0-3 in the Corridor Classic, with UNI winning by scores of 8-3, 8-6 and 4-2.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - The University of Iowa baseball team defeated the Northern Iowa Panthers 5-4 in dramatic fashion Tuesday night in the Fourth Annual Corridor Classic presented by Cedar Rapids Toyota-Scion at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids. The win improves the Hawkeyes to 30-17 and is the first win for Iowa in the Corridor Classic series. The loss drops the Panthers to 21-27.

Tonight's game also helped raise over $135,000 for the American Diabetes Association.

With the game tied 4-4 in the ninth, Travis Sweet walked and Dusty Napoleon looked to give Iowa the lead with a towering fly ball to right-centerfield that was caught up against the fence for the second out. Sweet then stole second. Caleb Curry followed that with a high chopper to short that he beat out at first. Sweet, who never broke stride from second, came around to score the go-ahead run.
