The University of Iowa softball team will be the No. 4 seed in next week's Big Ten Softball Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 10-7 record in conference play. The Hawkeyes will face No. 5 seed Purdue, who finished the regular season with a 32-31-1 overall record and a 10-9 record in Big Ten play Friday, May 11 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time.

The Hawkeyes have a 19-19 all-time record in the Big Ten Softball Tournament.

Iowa has won two tournament titles, claiming the 2000 and 2003 titles. The 2003 tournament was held in Iowa City.

Last season, Indiana defeated Iowa, 5-4, in eight innings in the first round.
