| Hawkeyes baseball vs. Nittany Lions The University of Iowa Hawkeyes lost the series opener with Penn State, 6-1, Friday afternoon at Banks Field. The Hawkeyes season record falls to 11-9 (1-4 Big Ten) the Nittany Lions improve to 8-15 (2-2 Big Ten). Iowa got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Kevin Hoef hit an RBI groundout. The Nittany Lions tied things up with a run in the second, then took a 2-1 lead when Matt Cavagnaro led off the third with a solo home run.
