| Iowa sweeps North Dakota State The University of Iowa Hawkeyes finished a four game sweep of the North Dakota State Bison Sunday afternoon, 9-7 at Banks Field. The win boosts the Hawkeyes season record to 9-5 and the loss drops the Bison to 2-13. It is the first four game sweep for the Hawkeyes since 1990 (Illinois). "It was great to finish off the sweep today," Iowa Head Coach Jack Dahm said. "I know we can play a lot better than we did, but we found ways to win. We were in three really close games, and we managed to pull out the win in each. That will help down the road." Iowa junior David Conroy started on the mound and got the win for the Hawkeyes. Conroy pitched into the sixth inning, scattering seven hits, allowing four runs and struck out three for his first win of the season. Mike Schurz finished off the Bison, throwing 1 1/3 with only one hit and to garner his third save of the year. Hawkeyes Complete Four-Game Sweet Last edited by Lefty Noob : 03-25-2007 at 08:05 PM. |
