GymHawks Finish First At Alaska-Anchorage

Iowa defeated Alaska-Anchorage today, 193.725-188.475 in the second of two meets against the Seawolves. Iowa athletes placed first in all four events as well as the all-around. The Hawkeyes improve their season record to 6-4 with the win.

On bars, Katie Burke placed first with a 9.85 while Ally Zipse scored a 9.775 third place finish and Beth Dilick tied for fourth, scoring 9.75


On beam, there was a three-way tie for first place, all of which were Iowa athletes. Nikke Page, Simbhudas, and Danielle Legeai all received scored of 9.7. Brandi Loffer tied for fourth, scoring 9.65.


On the floor exercise, Iowa also placed well, claiming the top three spots. Simbhudas won the event with a 9.9 while Burke took second, scoring 9.825, and Amanda Rudolph placed third with a 9.775. In the all-around,



Simbhudas placed first (38.7) and Burke finished second (38.675).


Iowa will face host Oklahoma, February 18th at 2 p.m.
