Hey, welcome to the GTG forum mgrandysr! To follow up your comment about Pennington gone. I have been lightly following the Jets the past couple years and the progress of Kellen Clemens.

Who was winning the QB battle before Favre came and Pennington left? Do you think Clemens will eventually be the man once Favre retires again?

Does Brendt Favre make the Jets an instant challenge to the Patriots in your division and playoff contender? How will the Jets defense be this year?

Unfortunately I think they were commited to pennington at that point. When Brett Farve stepped into the picture they knew pennington would not be happy as a #2 qb. Personally, I like the 4th string QB, Ratliff. I think he has the potential to be a great QB.

As for the second question, Farve will make an instant impact on the way the team plays as a whole. I have never been a Farve fan, although I appreciate his abilities and accomplishments. All in all, I think it will be a good year for the Jets.
